Amirkabir University of Technology’s (AUT) Solid Mechanic Center of Excellence has been established for five years, in 2000, with approval of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology’s. Members of the center are 5 Professors, 6 Associate professors, and 5 assistant Professors with glory of 45 years in BSc, 20 years in MSc, and 12 years in PhD teaching.

Its special fields have been defined as follow:

1. Stress analysis of smart materials and structures (FGM)

2. Dynamics, vibration and control of smart structures (FGM)

3. Manufacturing process of shape memory alloy

The outcomes of the center are some books, a reasonable number of articles, and some research contracts which have been reflected in annual reports.
