Selection of a professor from Amirkabir University of Technology as a Distinguished Professor in the field of Mechanical Engineering

The Academy of Sciences of the Islamic Republic of Iran has selected Dr. Mohammad Mohammadi Aghdam, a professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Amirkabir University of Technology, as an Outstanding Professor in the field of Mechanical Engineering in recognition of his more than 30 years of scientific and research activity at the frontiers of global knowledge.
According to the Public Relations Department of Amirkabir University of Technology, the Academy of Sciences held a ceremony to honor this distinguished professor on Engineer's Day.
Dr. Mohammad Mohammadi Aghdam was born in Tehran in 1964 and has been working as a full-time faculty member at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Amirkabir University of Technology since 1991. He received his bachelor's degree from Sharif University of Technology, his master's degree from Amirkabir University of Technology, and his doctorate from the University of Bristol, England. His research activities include publishing more than 210 articles in prestigious international journals, presenting more than 110 articles at national and international conferences, and delivering 3 keynote speeches at prestigious international conferences.
Dr. Mohammadi Aghdam also authored the book Mechanical Structures of Beams, Sheets and Shells, which was selected as the book of the Islamic Republic of Iran in 2007. Guiding more than 13 doctoral theses, 67 master's theses, and 35 bachelor's theses are among his other services to the scientific community of the country.
Dr. Mohammadi Aghdam has been a source of effective services to our beloved country in positions such as Deputy Director of Research, Testing and Educational Evaluation of the National Education Assessment Organization, Deputy Director of Education of the Mechanical Engineering Department, and Director General of International Relations of Amirkabir University of Technology.
Secretary of the National Student Scientific Olympiads, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and Director General of Research Affairs of Amirkabir University of Technology are also among the other executive activities of this distinguished professor of Amirkabir University of Technology.
In addition to his outstanding research and executive activities, Dr. Mohammadi Aghdam is also very active in the field of training mechanical engineers in the country, and he provides basic and specialized courses in this field, including Statics, Strength of Materials, Composite Mechanics, Finite Element Theory, and Advanced Numerical Analysis.
Dr. Mohammadi Aghdam was chosen as the selected author of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in 2007, as the top researcher of Amirkabir University of Technology in 2016 and 2018, and as the top doctoral thesis supervisor of Amirkabir University of Technology in 2017 and 2019.
Dr. Mohammadi Aghdam has been on the Clarivitz Institute list as an international researcher with high citations (one percent), and his name as a top global scientist on the Stanford Institute list, as a selected scientist from the Islamic Republic of Iran, is a source of pride for the Iranian scientific community.
